![]() Another Whopper From Kar as published in the May 3, 2000 issue of the Anderson Valley Advertiser
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Neillands, I am responding to your inquiry about my memo that ended up appearing in the Anderson Valley Advertiser. A little background: I am coordinator of the Bay Area Coalition for Headwaters, an organization fiscally sponsored by the Ecology Center (in Berkeley). I have for many years been associated with the Center, was on staff for over a decade [*until she created her coordinator job for BACH--AC], on the Board for six years and served in other capacities. I worked closely with Judi Bari for years. She was one of my closest friends and colleagues for several years. About the memo: I sent it to a small list of activist friends as a personal note. How it landed in the hands of the AVA I do not know. I did send it from BACH's account (i.e my office), but it was very clear it was a personal note, NOT from the Ecology Center or BACH, and as I said went only to a handful of friends. It's true, much about the bombing case remains a mystery. Unfortunately, I feel the reckless personal attacks Bruce Anderson has engaged in undermine the federal lawsuit which (I feel) is the best information gathering tool we have. (Perhaps you heard me on KPFA recently, Larry Bensky asked me to be on with Bruce and a lawsuit attorney.) Sorry it took me so long to reply. Call our office if you wish.
Sincerely,
|
